Too Cool for School Dinoplatz Lost Identity- Lost in Hawaii

Hi all!

It's been ages since I made a post but exams are finally over-I survived-and finish catching up with lost hours of sleeping, I'm ready to blog again! I have many things to talk about and many more to test out so watch this space!

Too Cool for School's Lost Identity from their Dinoplatz line is the brand's own take of the increasingly popular lip crayon. I feel like as a brand, TCFS doesn't get enough love, I have to admit, even I don't give it enough love. But the more I try from them, the more impressed I am. Surprisingly, TCFS Dinoplatz is the first one i've tried. With my love for lip products, there's no reason to not own a handful by now. Especially as they're so lovely.

I purchased the shade Lost in Hawaii from HonestSkin. It's a very balmy and moisturizing coral colour. Ironically I have lost, Lost in Hawaii. So pictures of this is sparse and unfortunately there's no lip swatch. I was waiting to test it out a few more days before doing lip swatches, but alas, its lost somewhere between work and the way home.

Nevertheless, the short amount of time I did like it a lot.

First of all, the packaging for this is super duper cute. I know I say this about a lot of Asian Beauty products have the best packaging. It appeals to my superficial tendencies!. And why I have so drawers and drawers full of them. Even then, TCFS is one of the brands that always goes above and beyond everyone else. Dinosaurs in the city? I didn't know I wanted it but, yes, yes, yes!

To start with, the lip crayon is rolled up as seen above. As it slowly unravels, you see some seriously beautiful art work by Hatori Sando on the belly until you finally get to the lip crayon hidden inside. What a fun and cute way to packaging products! Not only do you get the product but you get an experience of taking it apart!

Lost in Hawaii looks quite orange in the tube but it's very blamy. When applied on the lips, it's almost a coral colour. Very great for every day wear. Which is way I'm so gutted I lost it because it's so perfect for work :(

It's a very comfortable and moisturizing product. It didn't dry up my lips and applies very smoothly. The shape of the lip crayon makes for easy application. You get really good control over the application. I imagine darker lip crayons where you want precise lines would be great to work with since you can draw any lines you want without trouble.

I found that this lasted a good 2-3 hours if i'm not doing any drinking of eating. As soon as you do either of those, it rub of very easily. So those who want a really long lasting lip product might have to turn elsewhere. I don't really mind though because re-applying is really easy. You can use the tip to lightly trace the outline of your lines and fill them in or even just go all out and apply with the side of the lip crayon. The light colour is very forgiving.

OH! This does twist up so there's no hassle of trying to sharpen it.

The only decent swatch i could find on my camera :(
Overall a really lovely lip product. Easy to apply, moisturizing and smooth, great colour. Definitely a good introduction into the world of lip crayons! And definitely makes me want to try more from the brand as a whole.

  • Easy to apply
  • Comfortable to wear
  • Lovely Colour
  • Cutest packaging!
  • Doesn't last very long
  • I lost it :(
