3 Concept Eyes Gel Eyeliner in Black

Finally a 3 Concept Eyes review! I have a whole bunch of products from this wonderful brand and yet never sat down and properly review them. I purchase this as part of my birthday haul back in May but chuck it somewhere and couldn't fit it until a month or so ago. Despite its popularity in Asia, it's still not that well known in international beauty forums. Before buying this eyeliner, I wanted to find some reviews on it. There weren't a lot of them. And what little reviews I did manage to find were sparse and not that informative. Its a shame because this thing rocks!

For those who haven't heard of this brand, 3 Concept Eyes in a house brand from popular clothing retailer Stylenanda. They first released their makeup line back in early 2009 and has since been slowly exploding through out Asia. While 3ce is a tad pricer than other Korean makeup brands, the quality is well worth its price. In fact, its so popular that there's always a constant stream of tourist at their flagship store in Korea, all attempting to get their hands on the makeup. Its not hard to see why 3ce is so popular. High quality products, fun colours and the beautiful Park Sora is the face of the brand.

Like all of 3ce's products, the packaging is very simple but very chic. In fact, many compare their packaging to MAC's. While I see the similarities, I much prefer 3ce's packaging.  You can see the quality of the product as soon as its taken out of the box. The eyeliner is house in a semi opaque glass bottle with a metal cap. I really love this as it means the eyeliner doesn't dry out as fast. You also get an eyeliner brush that's not picture as I've misplace somewhere. Another thing I really like is that all 3ce has this little sticker on their new unopened products so that you know you're not getting a used product.

The amount of product you get is once again, minuscule. I guess this is one fault of a minimalist design. You can't fit a lot of information. In fact, there's no mention on product size on the packaging nor the website. As I mentioned in my haul post, 3ce is usually very generous with the product amounts. Their eye shadows for example are easily double the size of other brands. Then you open the box for this eyeliner, and its just so tiny. I felt like a giant holding it in my hands.

All was forgiven when I tried it for the first time. You know when you test out a product and have the sudden realisation that, this is it. This is the product I will live and die with? Yeah well this is my product. It was like listening to Kendrick Lamar's GKMC or Shinee's Symptoms for the firs time Like taking that first bite into a Milse dessert. It's life changing. There might even have been some moaning. Prior to that moment, I always held Bobbi Brown's gel liner to be the best of the best. But this, this easily blows it out of the water. It's just.....just life changing.

First of all, the formula is just so so creamy. It just glides on. Glides. I pair this with my Real Techniques Fine Liner brush is a dream team. They were made for each other. Like somehow, the girls at Pixiwoo and the staff at Style Nanda telepathically agree to each make a product that, combine together will be a perfect combo.

Because it's so creamy, it takes some time to set. This means you can still move it as you like, perfect for those pesky wing lines or cat eyes. When it does set, it just stays. I wore this for around 9 hours before removing it. No smudging, no flaking and minimal fading. It's also waterproof. I even nap in this thing( bad habit, I know), and it still stays perfect when I wake up.

My endless amounts of black eyeliners are a visual sign of my biggest struggle with eyeliners. Tightlining. No matter what I try, they always run down my waterline. I pretty much gave up on it. But I tried using this to tightline, damm thing stays there like nobody's business. Additionally you only need the smallest among of product. I've used it constantly for the past month and there's hardly a dent.
