Etude House Play Nail #23

Etude House released their Play Nail 101 collection last year. Yes that is 101 nail polishes in one collection, all at once. My mind still boggles at the existence of this collection. They're also continuously releasing new colours so its probably Play Nail 200+ by now. The great thing about this line is unbelievably cheap price. It starts from around $2.50-$5usd per bottle depending on where you buy it from. Any budding or veteran nail polish addicts should definitely check this line out, especially because the quality far exceeds initial expectations.

Because there's so many colours, Etude House didn't bother giving quirky names to individual colours like all the other cool~ brands. Or that's my theory anyways, don't quote me on that. If I had the job to name 101 nail polishes all at once, I'll give up somwhere around 20 and call it a day.

#23 is a deep brown tone plum colour. I picked this up in Hong Kong for $20HKD($3.30NZD) I thought nothing of this nail polish after my trip until re-discovering it among my collection a few months back. For something so cheap, I didn't have a lot of expectations. As it turns out, not only is it amazing quality but the colour is gorgeous. Due to it's rather large brush head, application was a breeze. It took me around 2-3 strokes to get even application. 2-3 layers for full opacity. Again, the colour is very gorgeous. The deep suits nicely against my NC30 Asian skin tone.

I've tried many brands of nail polishes in the past. From the fan favourites, OPI to cheaper brands like China Glaze and Revlon, or even ridiculously high priced Butter London but I've never had a nail polish remain chip free for so long. It's not to say, the more expensive the better but #23 managed to stay on my nails for almost 2 weeks with no chipping and no top coat. I'm highly impressed, especially for a $3 nail polish.

Took this the last day of wear before removal. You see how much my nails have grown, yet, there's hardly any chipping??
